Hot yoga has been defined as a series of yoga poses performed in an area of 95 to 100 degrees. This is a fairly new, popular form of yoga designed to assist those wishing to cleanse their body of any toxins encountered in recent weeks.
It should be noted this is a very exhausting and physically draining style of yoga. If you attend yoga several times a week, I would strongly recommend doing this routine only once every week or so. You should be completely prepared for a strenuous workout when you decide to participate in hot yoga. It is also important to be well hydrated and to have an extra bottle of water available during your session. You can plan on really sweating it out.
Imagine, Richard Simmons working over a group of oldies looking like they just walked out of a shower and forgot to take their clothes off. I would definitely recommend wearing loose fit, sweat absorbent shorts they should provide some extra breathing room.
I also suggest you invest in a microfiber sweat absorbent towel to cover your foam yoga mat. This will provide a much needed hygiene layer and will help prevent unnecessary slipping from all your excess sweat. It is a bad idea to eat within two hours of your session as undigested food or a full stomach will only slow you down and hinder your exercise experience.
Hot yoga is a great sweat it out method to slim down, lose weight and reduce cholesterol. Just keep in mind it would be very unhealthy to do this on a frequent basis as you could run the risk of dehydration.
Hot yoga is a great yoga workout to rid your body of toxins while you relax away any stress from the previous week. You will find complete relaxation in the exhaustion felt after one of these rigorous sessions. You will sleep like a baby awaking the next day feeling refreshed and completely re-energized.
